The FDA includes several warnings for Wegovy. Most notably, it should not be used by individuals with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2. Wegovy may also cause inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis), gallbladder problems, low blood sugar, kidney injury, allergic reactions, changes in vision, increased heart rate, and suicidal thoughts or behavior. Patients should be aware of these potential risks and discuss any concerns with their healthcare provider.
