Pradaxa (dabigatran) may not be preferred due to its higher risk of gastrointestinal bleeding compared to some other anticoagulants and the requirement for strict adherence to dosing schedules. Additionally, while there is now an available reversal agent (idarucizumab), its management in emergency situations can be more complex compared to warfarin, which has a well-established and widely available reversal protocol using vitamin K.
