Propecia Pro-Pak (finasteride) is taken by mouth, usually as one 1 mg tablet once daily. Swallow the tablet whole, with or without food, and take it around the same time each day. Follow the exact instructions provided by the prescriber.
Hair-loss improvement generally requires at least three months of continuous daily use. Continued treatment is usually needed to maintain the benefit; stopping may reverse the effect within about 12 months.
If a dose is missed, skip it and take the next scheduled dose—do not double the dose. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not handle crushed or broken tablets because finasteride can be absorbed through the skin and may harm a male fetus.
