Aggrenox is not the same as dipyridamole, but it contains dipyridamole as one of its components. Aggrenox is a combination medication that includes both aspirin and dipyridamole, used to reduce the risk of stroke in people who have had transient ischemic attacks or strokes. Dipyridamole, on its own, is a separate medication that can be used for different purposes, such as in cardiac stress testing.
