When taking risedronate, it's important to avoid consuming foods and beverages high in calcium, such as dairy products, as well as supplements or antacids containing calcium, magnesium, or aluminum close to the time you take the medication. These substances can interfere with the absorption of risedronate. It's generally recommended to take risedronate with a full glass of plain water on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before eating or drinking anything else.
