Zanubrutinib is not considered traditional chemotherapy. It is a targeted therapy known as a Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor, used to treat certain types of blood cancers by specifically targeting and inhibiting the BTK enzyme involved in cancer cell growth. Unlike chemotherapy, which typically affects both cancerous and healthy rapidly dividing cells, zanubrutinib is designed to more selectively target cancer cells.
