Aimovig (erenumab) is a medication that blocks the activity of a molecule called calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), which is involved in migraine attacks. By blocking CGRP from binding to its receptor in the brain, Aimovig helps prevent the onset of migraines. It does not cure migraines but can reduce their frequency and severity.
