Raltegravir is an antiretroviral medication used to treat HIV infection, and it is generally considered to have a low risk of causing kidney problems. Unlike some other HIV medications, raltegravir is not primarily eliminated by the kidneys and rarely causes kidney toxicity. However, as with any medication, rare cases of kidney dysfunction have been reported, so monitoring may be recommended in patients with pre-existing kidney conditions.
