This medication is used with diet to lower LDL cholesterol (LDL-C) in adults with primary non-familial hyperlipidemia, and alone or with other LDL-C lowering drugs in adults with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH). Lowering LDL-C reduces the risk of heart disease and stroke.
