Each tablet contains empagliflozin, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, and metformin hydrochloride, a biguanide. SGLT2 inhibitors help remove excess sugar through urine, and biguanides help lower blood sugar by decreasing glucose production in the liver.
