Chlor-Trimeton (containing chlorpheniramine) was not officially taken off the market for safety reasons but has become less available due to the introduction of newer, non-drowsy antihistamines. Additionally, changes in manufacturing, marketing decisions, and shifting consumer preferences have led to its reduced presence in pharmacies. However, chlorpheniramine is still available in some generic and combination allergy medications.
