Aranesp should be stopped if hemoglobin levels rise above the target range (typically >12 g/dL) or if there is no response after 8–12 weeks of therapy at the maximum recommended dose. Additionally, discontinue Aranesp if the patient develops serious adverse reactions such as pure red cell aplasia or severe hypertension.
