You should not use DuoNeb (ipratropium bromide + albuterol sulfate) if you have had an allergic reaction to ipratropium, albuterol, atropine or atropine-like medicines, or any ingredient in the solution.
DuoNeb may also require extra caution and medical supervision if you have narrow-angle glaucoma, difficulty urinating or an enlarged prostate, heart disease or an irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, or a seizure disorder. These conditions do not always mean you cannot use DuoNeb, but your prescriber should know about them.
Stop using DuoNeb and seek medical help if it causes sudden worsening of wheezing or breathing immediately after treatment (paradoxical bronchospasm), or signs of a serious allergic reaction such as facial/throat swelling, hives, or difficulty breathing.
DuoNeb should be used only as prescribed and at the prescribed frequency; increasing the dose or frequency without medical advice can increase cardiovascular and other side effects.
