Yes, NINLARO (ixazomib) can be associated with weight gain, but usually because of fluid retention rather than an increase in body fat. Peripheral edema (swelling) is a common side effect; in clinical studies, peripheral edema occurred in about 27% of patients receiving the NINLARO-containing regimen.
You should contact your healthcare provider if you notice rapid or unexplained weight gain, especially along with swelling in the feet, ankles, legs, hands, or face. The prescribing information recommends monitoring for fluid retention and evaluating other possible causes.
