The most common side effect of tolterodine is dry mouth. This happens because tolterodine reduces certain involuntary muscle activity and can also decrease saliva production.
Other common side effects include constipation, headache, dizziness, dry eyes, and blurred vision. Drinking water regularly, chewing sugar-free gum, or using sugar-free lozenges may help with dry mouth.
Seek medical advice promptly if you develop difficulty urinating, severe constipation, a fast or irregular heartbeat, or signs of an allergic reaction.
