While taking NORFLEX (orphenadrine), avoid or use caution with anything that can increase its drowsiness or anticholinergic effects.
- Alcohol — can worsen dizziness and drowsiness.
- Driving or operating machinery until you know how NORFLEX affects you.
- Sedating medicines such as opioids, benzodiazepines, sleep aids, and other muscle relaxants unless your healthcare provider approves them.
- Anticholinergic medicines, including some antihistamines such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl), because they can increase dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, and difficulty urinating.
- Overheating, especially in hot weather, because orphenadrine may reduce sweating.
- If you take the extended-release tablet, do not crush or chew it; swallow it whole.
Check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting new prescription or OTC medicines while taking NORFLEX.
